Hi there! I've got a question regarding the screenshots: how do you manage to get such good outdoor pictures? Do you use some mod that changes the light ingame, edit pictures or it's just ultra-high end computer that makes that? ;) I manage to get pretty decent screenshots indoors and near (but not too near) warm lightsources (like candles) but the vanilla sunlight in the day is pretty awful. Especially pale characters (vampires, etc) get those horrible, flat faces in full natural light, while they can look good for example inside Tona's Store studio. Any tips, please?Really nice blog and screenies, btw :)
Effique, thank you for your comment. I do have a decent video card but when I take a picture of my character outdoors I like to face them away from the sun, so I do not use the sun as a light source. and I use this: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16493.I prefer to use the L gems and I just 'tcl' and drop them so they are parallel to my characters face. Depending on the weather I either have to stand right next to them or pretty far away.I hope that helps (:
The download section!!!! You're either going to heaven or reincarnate as some empress of the world, that's for sure :D
Thank you (:. Glad you like or can use some things I put together. I will try to update it often if I have anything to post (:
You disabled comments in your last tutorial, so I'll keep spamming here ;)I figured that one already, so I'll go off topic. :P btw, thanks for the skeleton, it solved some of my problems, but I encountered a new one: body! While I was trying to make your Winter-outfit (or sth similar, but with covered back) myself I had this problem: When you add clothing for parts of body that are visible in the mod (like adding sleeves to a sleeveless corset) sometimes the body mesh is clipping. So, you can remove the body mesh. But then, it goes with some other parts, like the cleveage. And then, ingame my character had a giantic transparent gap on her chest. Or other example - in the dress that is a base for the Winter-outfit corset, there is a big neck-thing. A collar with jewellery or sth. When I remove it, there's a gap on the chest, no skin underneath. Sometimes this body mesh comes in big parts (like chest+arms+back) and when I add things to cover them, they clip, but when I remove them, all skin parts become invisible. So I spent some time searching other meshes for cleveages cut exactly in the shape that I needed, but that's just absurd and puzzle-like (they never fit!). I guess I'm doing something terribly wrong, or maybe there is some library with all the body/skin parts in small pieces?I now I'm quite terrible at explaining what I mean, but I hope you can make some sense of it. To make things short, it's "Help, my legs are invisible" problem. Yeah, and sorry for the "can't do it myself, help help help" attitude. You turned out to be one of the nicest and most helpful people in the community, and no good deed goes unpunished ;) ;)
Sorry about disabling comments in the other post; I am somewhat OCD XD.Anyways I think I understand your problem, and it's a problem I run into myself a lot. You basically have to fit different body meshes to the mash-up like a puzzle. Sometimes default ones will work (I keep all the HGEC meshes in a separate folder on my desktop). and if you can't find a body mesh that will fit and you don't have blender you pretty much have to improvise by adding things over the invisible parts. Or searching through your mods looking to see if any other body mesh will fit.It defiantly can be like a puzzle and that is usually the hardest part of nif-bashing; is finding a body mesh that will fit. Sometimes some clothing and armor mods will have body parts that fit perfectly... The lower body mesh from tona airy lily for example is crotch less so if you have pants that clip in the crotch you can use those... but if you use those with underwear the butt will be invisible. :p Usually if there is a mesh that the neck or wrists are invisible I can replace that body mesh with one of the upper body meshes from the HGEC master file. That is why I like to keep all the HGEC body meshes in a folder somewhere on my desktop.Hope that helps ): ...but yep, it is like a big puzzle sometimes XD.
Thank you!Good points: I wasn't a moron THIS TIME.Bad: It will require some work.Still, it was such an unpleasant shock to me ;) When I found your site my Oblivion CD almost broke to pieces (well, it has been intensively used) and the new one was being shipped, so I couldn't check the meshes in-game. So I gleefully made about a dozen meshes and retextures thinking that they will be just added over the naked body mesh. When my Oblivion finally arrived I quickly made an esp and had an awful WTF moment. ;)Oh, and I'm glad you've put back the move-items note. It seems pretty easy, but you'd be amazed what difficulties people stumble upon. For example, until recently I wasn't aware of the hue/saturation or color balance feature in GIMP and I made a pretty nice retexture of Lethal Majesty just very carefully selecting red parts and clicking "colorize" one by one (facepalm). It obviously took some time. :D
When I was starting out I had a hard time with some simple things too that are now second nature to me almost. That is one of the reasons I started posting tutorials, because sometimes it's the simple things that are the biggest road blocks (:. I am glad that they are beneficial. When I started re-texturing and combining meshes; I know I would have loved a simple tutorials with pictures XD.
Hi, it's me again. There's one thing about creating normal map that I'm not sure about. It's purpose is to make certain parts more convex and shiny, right? What you did in the tutorial is:1. Open the original normal map2. Clear it3. Make a normal map from the texture4. Copy it over cleared normal map5. Clear it again6. SaveI don't really understand what's the point? What was the puropse of using that normalmap GIMP plugin if you erased it all? Did it change anything at all? Why set scale to 4.000 if you saved get saved by that?
sorry that might be kinda confusing how I do it XD, hopefully I can explain it well enough. The normal map creates the depth and psychical texture of a mesh. Even though I erased it, what I saved will still be there. I erased it so it does not show up shiny in game. When I erase it the first time, it's to make sure that all the blue parts are gone (I am partially color-blind so the more opaque it is; I can't see it...at all). Also I like to make sure all the blue is gone so when I paste the new normal map there is none of the old normal map underneath. (which I could also just ctrl+x , but sometimes that does not work and pasting will cause my GIMP to crash... so I just got in the habit of using the eraser tool :p.)I erase it again to make sure all the blue is gone, because the more blue means the shinier it will be in game (for example this is what my silverlight armor looks like http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_1y11Wljqw4/TbBjWLBfWAI/AAAAAAAAAUs/U8ouHKYSh90/s1600/ScreenShot2682.jpg after the normal map is erased; a lot less shiny (:. ) but even though I erased it, the texture is still there, I am just making it see-through so it's not shiny. You can choose to not erase it all the way, which is what most modders do because some people like it to have a little shine, but again I cant see it at all to judge how much there is so I just erase it completely.I hope that explain is well enough.
hihi,I'm a follower of your blog, in fact was after reading your tutorials that I began to understand the game. Tyvm for the enlightment you gave me. I love the screenshots you have on your blood elf and I recently installed that race on my PC, The thing is altough I love her face, her body is not my taste. I like her to have a bit of pubic hair and more vivid nipples. I saw that your blood elf had that. Could you please tell me where can I get that body?Ty for your time and patience and sorry for my bad english.Kind regardsMaria
Thank you for your comments Maria, I will upload her body and post it in my downloads (:
edit: The body textures I use are mostly custom so that's why I am up uploading them. They are a combination of Ozmo's, Krista's, MSE, and some of my re-texturing.
ty so much for the body, it looks awesome :D I was able to disguise the scar using GIMP as I'm a epic fail at Photoshop :SKeep up the gr8 work.Take care.Maria
Looks like I can get around to making a half decent cat person now with that tutorial, didn't think of doing like that. Oddly enough I used a similar method when doing a face texture. Have yourself a good day.
First of all, thank your for these great 'mash-ups', I'm very happy that I stumbled upon your blog through a random link on another site. One thing I'd like to report is that the password does not seem to work for the Arcane outfit. I wish I had just a trace of your skill at creating such great outfits.
Thanks for the comments (:, glad you like my stuff. Thanks also Ladymilla for informing me the password was wrong it is not fixed, so it should work properly.Sorry I have been neglecting this blog, I have my Oblivion uninstalled. I might be posting some other random things that were reserved for other things sometime in the near future though. (:
you are wonderful, thanks!
You are welcome! Thank you!
Very nice blog , especially liked the image and model of armor made by you.
Very good quality and texture of armor you have createdhttp://shy.jsphr.net/upload/img/ups33033.jpg I would like to see more work that you have created
Could you upload your work in this picture (armor)http://jpegshare.net/61/d5/61d5242e47c63dc472c47b767b614cfc.jpg.htmlthanks in advanceIf you do not want to share them, I understand :)
I will upload the ones that are mine. 2 of those armors were not made by me, so unfortunately they are not mine to share. One of them (the third one) was made by myself and someone else; and I would have to ask for permission from them also to share it on here. But I will ask them when I get around to it. I will work on uploading the ones that are mine right away (the ones in pictures 1,4,5,6).
Thank you very much!
Do you have a model of this armor without a helmet ? ( Dragon Templar)as here http://jpegshare.net/a9/36/a9361ac6708770cea760a28d37a6d00a.jpg.html :)
Here is a mesh without a helmet (:http://www.mediafire.com/?dvllvg9zadk14ql
Add this armor only unmasked (DragonKnight) please :)
Give me time and I will add it. If you have nifscope just open the mesh click on the mask and hit ctrl+delete then save it. (:I will add it later though.
Thank you suggested an interesting program, removed the maskI need to learn to work with her, think using it can do a lot of interesting things :)
How to Use it, only for some reason, all models are loaded and are not colored May need some addition to it that the models were colored?
Got it ,In order to have the color you need to specify the path to the texture
If you want to get it colored all the time just go to render at the top then settings, then rendering, and then click on the button that says 'auto detect game paths' (:
I did the armor http://jpegshare.net/69/cc/69cc30043b3ef9d7883044607ffce5fe.jpg.html has created individual folders under: Textures and Meshes, pointed the way to the texture and added to the game. The game did not have the armor textures, uploading them through NifSkope There ways were unknown to themHow to specify the path to the new texture so that they appear in the game?
Oh hey! that looks pretty good! I have a tutorial here: http://kirinsoblivion.blogspot.com/2011/08/simple-way-to-re-color-and-duplicate.htmlthat should explain a little on how to change the texture paths; just click on the flower under the mesh and find where the textures you want are.
Look, I did the right thing all the way, but the game still does not find them http://narod.ru/disk/32742501001/Dark%20hunter.zip.html specify my mistakes there :(
Here is a fixed mesh, it should work in your game now for you. (I can't test it because I don't have Oblivion installed, but I am 100% sure it will work now). http://www.mediafire.com/?s2xux54f7wkghumWhat was wrong with it was the texture path was saying "darc hunter"...but the folder with the actual textures was called "dark hunter". All I did was click on every single item, and change the texture path to textures>dark hunter.
I was a little messed up there with the names of , All in all, it was necessary to click (Spells - Sanitaze - Adjust Link Arrays) and save If you want to put it in myself, I do not mind :)Thanks for your help!
You can add http://jpegshare.net/05/bc/05bcf5f72822078bf2d009c3c2dc65a2.jpg.html I like your improvements Silverlight Armor, without the plastic shine
I will upload the textures only so you can add them to a silverlight you want (since that is what I did). The one in the middle is not mine though. But the black and silver ones are my re-textures. The black one I used for the silverlight found in the apachii godess store. and the silver one is my re-texture of the actual silverlight armor.
Here's my second job http://jpegshare.net/2d/e7/2de7ea14a6bd0d8bae341e070d35a313.jpg.html :)
good job! that looks nice
If you can add these armors http://jpegshare.net/55/c1/55c172f6d0c2eca20d460f3907eaae52.jpg.html Regarding the latter, I think this author Darigaz17 I would like to supplement their collection his work
Tell me where to find the bottom of the armor, as in this picture please http://jpegshare.net/c8/62/c862fb4d5028c9f9c5cf2d1bd9566ee4.jpg.html.Add this armor yet :)http://jpegshare.net/14/ed/14eddb8040044a6645b790128f6dc704.jpg.html
The bottom of that armor is called "lady thief" which you can download at anvilbay.ru ...for some reason the website is not working for me sorry. the male armors are from here: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25332http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36592and the other armor I just added chain mail texture to the leg texture (:
It is your job? http://jpegshare.net/5c/fd/5cfd9b0ffc0f439f5314bd30a954cdb3.jpg.html Could you please add it here . Your lessons have helped to learn the basics NifSkope.
sorry I don't understand :<? Which one do you want? the first armor is actually from here:http://blog.naver.com/wjdvvv (if that is what you are asking)
First i downloaded thanks and second i would like;)
The other one is now posted (:
Just downloaded some outfits and they are simply divine. It's such a shame that Tesnexus can be so infernally picky about content being taken from other games / sources. I think if anyone can improve on what someone else has created or use it to make something fresh, then so much the better. Your 'mash-ups' are the absolute essence of what modding is all about and I love them :)Many thanks for your beautiful work!
Thanks a lot for the comment :D. I am glad you liked some things from here.xoxo
Hope you are doing well... The community misses you!
I am doing well thanks! Hope you are also well. I have just been pretty busy. I sure do miss the community also!
Hello there! :) Hope you are doing great. Just wanted to thank you for your kindness! You are sharing so many lovely mash-ups and those neat, useful tutorials too. Thank you very much! :)I hope I'm not being a pain in the... neck but could you maybe do some tutorial on how to do scars on body/head textures? :P I know you don't have Oblivion installed (or do you?) but maybe you can remember? :3
Good to hear from you Nightshade, hope you are doing well (:. I am glad you enjoy my blog. I have some Oblivion files still and I will try to make a tutorial for scars. My method is not the best, but maybe you can find it useful. I will work on doing it tonight and have it posted soon. (:
An interesting new tutorial :) Photoshop, I'm coming for you :D
:D glad you found it interesting
Where can I find this armor http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-x_7j11r04SQ/TiomQxinqWI/AAAAAAAAAuA/NgmV0hfbR0M/s1600/ScreenShot4863.jpg I saw the same on the Nexus but there(Light Guts Body):(
Here is a link (: ... this is my own recolor, so you will have to install the textures from the light guts one if you want the texture. http://www.mediafire.com/?mvcku4926j2u28z
Thank you, but breast size too big :)
no more mushups for Oblivion? :((
): Oblivion was too time consuming for me unfortunately, and I am busy with school. I am trying to get back into it though (summer break), so maybe I will work on some mash-ups soon.
Soon there will be new models, hurray! :D
Just posted a mash-up (:. Hope you enjoy it!
Crusader looks fantastic! thanks!!!
Glad you like it (:
I changed a little bit mash-up(Crusader) http://jpegshare.net/93/e6/93e6cf2121c235f54d5d8728151915bf.jpg.html :)
That looks really good :D
HelloTell me how to change NifSkope black area on the screen, on the other color.
Go to render>settings> colors> and on the bottom left there is a color slider that will let you change the background color (:
Hi,I was wondering if you could upload the male face texture on "how to scars".
Hello! Posted (:. I also added the head mesh I use (it fits the best on this one anyways, but that might be just my opinion), and a body texture that matches (it is nude and it's hairy). There are two faces; the difference is the eyebrows, if you like the second one more it needs to be pasted over the original Face.dds (unless you know how to apply it otherwise).
Thank you for your time, but it seems that I can't find the post. :(
Oh sorry I guess my downloads is not showing :<. Um it was the last post on my downloads page, but its not working for me. SO here is the download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?8cg1abmosn1k1fb password is BLIND
Once again thank you very much. It's hard to find a great texture once for a while. :)
You are welcome :D
Always looking forward to the new mash-up in the download section :)
Lovely Armor sets you've made. I will direct any one who asks about them to your site.
Oh thank you :D
Where did your album with screenshots oblivion?
It should be working now :p silly website
Where can I find this clothing http://jpeg.im/1m76 thanks in advance.
It's from this mod: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/32191(: if you want my texture edit I will upload it. In my picture my character was just wearing the shirt.
Yes, if you can :)
Here it is :D. http://www.mediafire.com/?zdu1935m896j9a5
Happy new year to you!
I would love to include a select number of your clothing in a store mod I'm working on. Credit would be given to you for those mods as well as the original authors of course.
That would be great (:
Hey :D Was wondering what race the human girl is(http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X4AT7Tahg-U/TmK12BQZCmI/AAAAAAAAA_Y/dW4XTlcOY8I/s1600/ScreenShot6189.jp), and what hair she's using? Thanks!
She is a custom race that I made, I could send you the face files if you want just email me: email@example.com .The hair is one of the SKS hairs maybe? I could send you that too if you want.
Hello !First i wanna say you have an awesome blog ^__^ - keep doing this stuff !I really like this image and armor:http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-T0tSY-OC9-c/TkV21N27xXI/AAAAAAAAA14/erEqjCigFBM/s1600/ScreenShot5430.jpgThe white dress is stunning, is there a download for it ? (Its number 130ish on your screenie list)Best Regards,Steve
Thanks for the comment! c; and you can find the dress here http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/29090/?
Hi there! Can I use a couple of your meshes for a mash-up armor that I'm working on (I haven't decided the final pieces yet)? I will credit you and the authors of course, and the sharing site will be only LoversLab.Thanks.
Sorry for the super late reply :< been so busy. But go ahead and use anything you want.
